Oatmeal Cheese Straws


 

 
Ingredients:
  
1/2 cup sweet Italian sausage, cooked and crumbled
2 cups natural cheddar cheese, grated
1/2 cup Romano cheese, grated
2 cups oat flour
3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
1/2 cup canola oil
6 tablespoons organic chicken broth
 
1.) Combine the sausage and cheese in a bowl.  Add the flour and rolled oats and mix together.
 
2.)In a glass measuring cup combine the canola oil and broth and then add all at once to the oat mixture.  Stir until it forms into a soft dough.  Place in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
 
3.) Heat the oven to 400o F.  Take out dough and break into small pieces.  Roll the pieces to make a long ropes, and
then twist into a spiral.  Place the ropes on a parchment-lined cookie sheet and bake for 7 minutes until browned and
crunchy.
